Two maverick Icelandic policemen pair up – in more ways than one – to catch a ruthless crime lord in this fast and furiously funny action spoof.
Cop movie cliches have been sent up before, but this Icelandic action comedy takes the homoerotic subtext of so many buddy movies and unapologetically comes out all guns blazing. Cop Secret embraces the genre’s more ludicrous tropes then gleefully squeezes them tighter.
Leigh Singer, BFI London

"Raucously entertaining Icelandic spoof"

- Screen

"Refreshingly diverse and hilariously old-school"
- Backseat Mafia

"Knowing, sneaky, and deliciously deadpan, upending toxic masculinity"
- Flick Filosopher

"Fast-Paced Nordic Cop Action Spoof with Progressive Bent"
- Screen Anarchy

In Hannes Thór Halldórsson’s eminently enjoyable romp the characters’ sexuality is part of the joke, but never the punchline – It’s too busy poking fun at the sheer absurdity of cop movie cliches.

Grace Barber-Plentie, BFI Flare
