Festivals Busan IFF 25, Golden Apricot FF 25, Jerusalem FF 25 WP - Forum Berlinale 2025
In a land after war, yet before peace, an itinerant well-digger is mistaken for an enemy and killed by villagers. Wanting to withhold the news from their daughter Claudette, the victim’s family requests a haggard soldier named Atom to take Claudette away on a road trip until the funeral is over.
On the road, as Atom and Claudette find themselves increasingly drawn to each other’s mysteries, their journey turns into an intimate drift through the scarred spaces of a war-torn country.

"The most transfixing first feature I've seen in an age"
Sam Wigley - British Film Institute
"Transforms a seemingly simple road trip into a complex odyssey"
Siddhant Adlaka - Variety
"A unique, dreamlike experience that is both visually and sonically striking"
Finn Drewes - Finn Cinema Blog
"An arresting feature debut"
"Haroutounian hypnotically captures a portrait of a people and nation in a state of purgatory, all amplified by a camera perspective that feels like that of a living ghost."
Marshall Shafer - Crooked Marquee
"Cinema as an act of cultural archaeology, to glimpse, however fleetingly, the spectral echoes of history in the present."
Kai Swanson - Movie Web
"True interrogation of narrative form, showing how the aesthetic experimentation typical of a Forum film could be seen in a deceptively more conventional piece filmmaking."
David Katz - Fipresci
